Tandem

Skydiving

"120mph, gravity fed, air cooled adventure!"

As you’re just the passenger the training requirements for Tandem Skydiving are shorter than for our solo jump courses, you'll begin with a 20 minute pre-jump briefing by your highly experienced British Parachute Association Instructor. After this, you will be provided with a skydiver's jumpsuit to go over your clothes (you should wear comfortable clothing, such as a track suit, and a pair of trainers). After fitting the tandem parachute harness, appropriate headgear and goggles it will take just around 15 minutes in the aircraft up to at least 10,000 feet (14,000 feet is normal during operations using turbine powered aircraft)

After exiting the aircraft  you will freefall until the instructor opens the main parachute at about 5000 feet. You will spend about 30 seconds in freefall (depending on the exit altitude) and reach a speed of around 120 miles per hour! The descent under the large square parachute will take several minutes, during which time you will help to steer it down to the landing area. You can even have one of our freefall camera flyers join you on your Tandem Skydive and take a memorable freefall video to help you remember your skydive and to show your friends.

Tandem Skydives can be booked for any day that we operate; please check our opening times. We ask you to arrive at the drop zone by 8.00am to complete the required registration paperwork after which you will normally jump in the order that the registrations took place, the only exception to this will where aircraft loading limits or staff / equipment availability otherwise demand.

Unfortunately it is not possible to give you an accurate time as to when you will make your skydive, we only allow parachute descents to be made when the weather conditions are safe and within the British Parachute Association's operating procedure minimums. You should plan to be able to stay at the drop zone for the whole day if so required. In the event of you being unable to make your jump on the scheduled day due to weather or technical issues we will re-schedule an alterative date with you.

All tandem jumpers will receive a personalised souvenir certificate and a Skydive Starter Magazine. For current Tandem charges and details of  video option prices view our price list. After you have experienced Tandem Skydiving, you may want to continue and progress in our sport. We recommend that you follow your tandem up with a 6 Jump RAPS "Solo Freefall" Course  for which we offer a discount if you book on the day of your jump. Spectators are welcome  to come and watch your jump, however we ask you not to bring pets or alcohol onto the drop zone.
