Everything You Wanted To Ask

Black Knights – Your questions answered…

When we arrive, how long will it take to jump?

Skydiving is an all day event. Due to weather conditions and how busy we are on the day, we can not predict an accurate time for your jump. You must expect to spend the whole day with us to complete your jump. You should expect to stay with us for a minimum of 3 – 4 hours, however skydiving can be an all day event, as it is weather dependant. Check the forecast over our Drop Zone using our handy Dropzone Weather Checker.

What should I wear to do my skydive?

Comfortable casual/sports clothing is advised with pumps/training type shoes that can be laced up securely. Please no boots.

How high do I jump from?

The cost of your tandem skydive is for a jump from 11,000ft. You can upgrade to 15,000fton the day only, for an additional £25. Please note you cannot have that upgrade option on a 7,000ft jump.

Can I have the jump videoed?

Yes you can. The cost for video and stills is £120. You get your own personal camera man to video your experience and give you anything from 80 to 120 high quality images. You also get to leave with it on the day just half an hour after you land.

What happens if my jump is cancelled?

If your jump is cancelled, you will be asked to rearrange the jump as soon as possible. There are no refunds.

If I need to cancel my booking?

If you need to cancel your booking completely, the skydives are all non-refundable so there is no refund available for monies payed, this includes for your skydive and any photography or video packages purchased.

Can I bring spectators?

Yes you can but please be aware that this could be an all day event and spectators could get bored very quickly. Please make them aware of this. If you bring small children, there is not a lot for them to do and can become restless very quickly, if you are waiting a long time to jump.

Is there a cafe on site?

Yes there is, serving hot and cold snacks all day Friday to Sunday and a large picnic area.

Can I do another jump if I enjoy it?

Yes, absolutely! There is a charge of only £150 to do a second jump on the day, or if you pay a £50 deposit, you can come back on another day of your choice. *Your reduced priced jump will be an 11,000 skydive and must be completed within 3 months of your initial jump date.

Is there anywhere to stay if we need to stay over?

Right on the doorstep is Patty’s Barn. A lovely set of holiday cottages that can sleep 1 to 8 people. Just give Margaret a call on 01524 751825. Also just down the road is The Mill. A very picturesque hotel with a great restaurant and fabulous rooms. Tel: 01524 752852

What times can I book to jump?

We have several arrival times which are allocated upon booking.  Please be aware though, your arrival time is not your jump time and are allocated on first booked first served basis.

How much training do I get for a tandem jump?

You will receive a minimum of 20 mins training before your jump from one of the Tandem Instructors.

Do I need a medical in order to jump?

From April 2016 two British Skydiving Tandem Student Parachutist medical form 115 A and B have now replaced the previous form 115 BPA medical form. The form 115A is for those Tandem Parachutist who are able to self declare; Form 115B Student Tandem Parachutist Request For Medical Advice is for those Tandem Parachutist who do not meet the requirements on Form 115A.

The requirement to have the Form 115 completed by your Doctor if aged 40+ has now been removed.

What is the age limit for a tandem jump?

Anyone over the age of 16 can do a tandem jump.

Can I jump for Charity?

Yes you can. See the charities that we support on our charities page.

What about alcohol?

Alcohol is *strictly forbidden* during operational hours for jumpers and spectators. Anyone jumping that smells of alcohol will NOT be able to jump and no refund will be given. Anyone seen with alcohol will be asked to leave the premises.

If I need to postpone my skydive or change the date?

You can of course change your jump date.  If you give us 14 days or more notice from the date of your jump then it’s free to change the date.  If you give us less than 14 days notice from your jump date, then there is a rebooking fee of £50 to do so.

Can we bring our dog?

We are now dog friendly! We have a designated dog area for your four legged friend to hang out during your time with us. We just ask that your dog must stay on a lead at all times and that you pick up after them and put in the designated bins. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in any indoor areas.
